Things that I care about/enjoy
Linux
I use Linux on many of my computers, including my 2020 M1 MacBook Air (see the Asahi Linux project). It's great to use an operating system that is free and doesn't spy on you and sell your data. And no, I don't use Arch btw (I have nothing against it tho).
Old Technology
I think technology is great when it makes our lives easier and better. Unfortunately most technology nowadays (smartphones, computers, AI) is built with the primary intention of making you the product, which generally makes your life worse. Which is why I enjoy using old(er) technology, like old computers, consoles, phones etc.
These things usually weren't built with that invasive mindset, so they mostly get out of your way and let you do the thing they were built to do. Of course, you can't accomplish many current tasks with a 20 year old computer, but just using it casually and messing around with old software still brings me joy. And you'd be surprised how much a 2006 iMac can still accomplish in 2026 if you put Linux on it.
Coding
I like making things for da computer. Mostly to learn and have fun. Mostly little utilities that make my life easier. I program in Swift mainly because it's the language I know the best and have the most experience with. But I also know C, a bit of Rust and I'm looking to learn Zig. Some of my projects are on Codeberg.
Video Editing
This is kind of a recent hobby of mine. One day I just got the idea to make a compilation out of something I care about and from that point on I've been making little edits and compilations. Check out my YouTube channel if you wish to see some of that.
Games
I actually don't play many video games. The two games I do play on a regular basis are SIMT which is a czech public transport driving simulator (yes i do love my trams and trolleybuses) and FNAF games. FNAF is a whole different can of worms but in short I do enjoy the series for, well, just the amount of content there is, for the animatronics and for the community. People like RyeToast, John FuhNaff or AstralSpiff are my goats.
TADC
The Amazing Digital Circus is an indie animated show created by Glitch Productions and written by Gooseworx. If you haven't seen it yet, watch it. It is absolute cinema. And it is absolutely free on YouTube. I enjoy watching indie animated shows in general (like Helluva Boss or Murder Drones) but TADC is one that really got me. I wasn't aware that a piece of media can be simultaneously so goofy and hilarious while also being so tragic and sad and just real. Which is kinda ironic considering the setting of the show but... you know, just watch it. Also a huge funnybunny enjoyer.
